Tango d'Amore is a concert journey through the golden age of tango — from the smoky cabarets of pre-war Warsaw to the passionate streets of Buenos Aires. The programme brings together the most beloved Polish tangos of the 1920s and 30s in original arrangements that breathe new life into these timeless melodies through the prism of Argentine tango and jazz.
Works by Jerzy Petersburski stand alongside Astor Piazzolla's nuevo tango and the great classics of the Argentine repertoire — Libertango, La Cumparsita, Por una Cabeza. Melodies of love, longing and passion, carried by live band, soaring voices and the wordless eloquence of dance.
The project unites Warsaw's finest performers in a programme equally at home on festival stages, concert halls and cultural centres across Europe.
